Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes The Gear Gods Review. Right after that boss fight Armstrong reveals his true motivation, that he's looking to do the exact opposite and create a world where you prosper or die based on your own strength rather than privilege. Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and mp3.com were.

Why? Well, that's because the first song reflects how Raiden perceives him - as a power-hungry dictator who's looking to subjugate everyone and take their free will away. This mod replaces the majority of the music in the game with dynamic tracks from Metal Gear Rising and it was A LOT more work than I thought it was going to be. When Armstrong was young, he used to play college football for the University of Texas, in which he excelled at the game. state of Colorado, as well as a candidate for the 2020 United States Presidential Election. I play Metal Gear games for the creative bosses, the baffling secrets, and the playfully dumb dialogue.

Dont care a huge amount for the other ones. Usually when you fight someone twice (like Sam for example, who you fight at the very beginning and near the end) the first version is just an instrumental and the second has lyrics, but Armstrong has two entirely different vocal tracks. Steven Armstrong is the main antagonist of the game Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and is a United States Senator representing the U.S. Metal Gear Solid 3 is my favourite Metal Gear game, but Rising has claimed the number two spot with relative ease. In that moment, that person happens to be Jack the Ripper - and so that's who the song is about.Īnother neat moment - Senator Armstrong is the only character who has two boss themes. Monsoon's theme is actually from the perspective of Raiden himself, or more specifically his "Jack the Ripper" persona (which he unleashes right before the fight), because as a strong believer of "memes" Monsoon has no real personality of his own and merely reflects the identity of the one opposite him like a mirror, inheriting their "memes". But there's one exception - Monsoon, the character obsessed with memes (not Internet memes, but rather how society, down to the individual person, pass on their culture, beliefs, even entire personality from one person to another much like genes pass on physical traits). It's pretty obvious that most of the tracks have lyrics that relate to the person that you're fighting (like for example Bladewolf's theme is about being forced to fight for a cause he doesn't believe in, or Mistral's theme is about not belonging anywhere).

The Witcher 3? What? What's bad about Transformers Devastation? I didn't get it since it was delisted, but everyone I know who played it said it was really good. The soundtrack of MGR is full of cool little details like that. Graeme Cornies is known for his work on PAW Patrol (2013), Daniel Tigers Neighborhood (2012) and Bakugan: Battle Planet (2018). It may have Bayonetta-like combat, but it's just a bad game.Īnd I agree with the post above me.

If you like MGR for its combat depth, DO NOT pick up:īatman / Middle-Earth series - While good games, the Counter Combat system is extremely simplistic and nothing like MGR.Īlso avoid Transformers Devastation. (I personally like Bayonetta 2 much better, but I doubt that is ever coming to PC) This thread didn't age well, funnily enough. I actually picked it up a long time ago because of this thread and didn't regret it.īayonetta 1 is now on steam too.

Killer is Dead is another one with solid, comparable melee combat. Both MGR and Sekiro have parry-focused sword combat, and skills/habits transfer fairly well. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is definitely a great get if you want to pick up an action-fighter with fairly fast-paced battles.
